The hazard of hand-weapons (guns or knives), explosives or disassembled weapon components being carried on board under prosthetic devices or casts, is real and can be prevented only with the help of special technical devices.
At personal inspection a removal of prosthetic device is unacceptable both for ethic & technical reasons.
In 2004 a small amount of plastic explosive, hidden in an ordinary women’s belt made it possible for the terrorists to blow up two Russian airplanes.
