Adjustable Temperature Controller

ATS 400 Sample Temperature Controller

The temperature controller system is intended for setting the temperature of a tested sample within a wide temperature range using liquid nitrogen.

The temperature controller includes:

  1. Dewar transmission vessel with an evaporator and a gas generator
  2. A stainless steel pipeline with two valves and a heater
  3. Dewar quartz tube with a thermocouple installed in a measuring resonator
  4. tSTAR 335 Control Unit with microprocessor control, connected to a computer

Operating Principle

In the positive temperature range use is made of the gaseous nitrogen from the liquefied gas cylinder connected to one of the valves of the pipeline. In the negative temperature range use is made of the refrigerant obtained by evaporating liquid nitrogen. A carbon pump is used to compensate for the loss of vacuum in the pipeline in case of drastic temperature difference.
